THE FRONT GATE ALL WE KNOW

Image
This road is not just a road for me. It’s the front gate of Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology , and honestly, a lot of our college life starts right here. Every time I walk through this gate, it feels like opening the first page of every chapter again. Early mornings are quiet, with sunlight coming through the trees—it really feels like the calm before the storm. Once we enter, it’s all about classes, labs, friends, and random conversations. Crossing this gate is like setting the ball rolling for the day. Some days are chill—no stress, no pressure—basically a walk in the park . On those days, time flies without us even noticing. Other days are rough. Assignments, tests, and deadlines hit together, and we end up burning the midnight oil just to keep up. This front gate has seen everything— first-day nervous walks , tired steps after long lab sessions , and happy faces after exams . It kind of reminds us that no pain, no gain . College isn’t always easy, but it’s ...

THE COOLDEST CORNER OF BANGLORE

Image
Most people think of Bangalore as a concrete jungle of glass tech parks, but tucked away near Yelahanka lies a 133-acre sanctuary that feels like a step back in time. Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (SMVIT) isn't just a college; it’s a landscape where history and nature have reached a silent agreement. Surrounded by hundreds of ancient trees, the air here is noticeably cleaner and thinner than in the city center . If you’ve ever walked to an 8:30 AM lecture here, you know the "SMVIT Cold." The dew on the grass and the mist clinging to the trees make the campus feel more like a hill station than a suburb of Bangalore. From arieal view the college looks less like an urban institution and more like a sprawling forest reserve . You can see how the academic blocks are woven directly into the landscape, surrounded by an endless canopy of mature trees that act as a natural shield against the city's noise and heat. The layout is open and airy, designed...

Visvesvaraya , the institute was destined to go the extra mile to honor his name. Rising to the Occasion: Over the decades, the college didn’t just tread water, it evolved rapidly: • The Midas Touch: In 1998, the college transitioned from  Bangalore University  to  VTU . •Broadening Horizons:From a handful of core engine...
